History, Heritage & Quality

Our great friend Jesus Fuego brings immense history, heritage & quality to the cigars he creates.

Born & raised on one of 4 farms in the renowned Pinar Del Rio region of Cuba , (links to Wikipedia.com) Jesus learned how to grow, age, blend and roll the best tobaccos to make best cigars. Years later, he left his homeland to create many cigar blends you enjoy today. Jesus now owns and operates his own cigar enterprise JFuego and makes Defiance Cigars for XIKAR.

HOW TO RESCUE DRY CIGARS:

The key is SLOW, STEADY re-humidification.  We can not emphasize "slow" enough.  

1. Do NOT try and re-humidify a dry cigar overnight - the wrapper will absorb the moisture too quickly and the wrapper will bulge and break. 
2. Get a separate container or humidor for the dry cigars.  A tupperware or ziplock bag will work if that is all you have.
3. Get a good humidifier that regulates humidity (most important, many humidifiers just spew out moisture and will over saturate dry cigars!).  Any of the XIKAR Humidifiers work perfectly - and we have many sizes, depending on how many cigars you are rescuing.   The HumiStore bags work great too!
4. Fill the humidifier with XIKAR PG Solution , following the product instructions.  Then put the humidifier in with your sticks. 
5. WAIT! Using your digital hygrometer, such as XIKAR's round digital , monitor the humidity levels over the next month AT LEAST.  You might notice the humidity levels are low in the beginning.  That is fine. Slowly add PG solution to the humidifier as needed, but never over do it.
6. Rotate your sticks around so they get even humidity exposure. 
7. Test them often with a gentle squeeze in the beginning stages to make sure you aren't over-humidifying.  Less often after a couple weeks.
